With the flash aimed at the back of the umbrella, it creates effects like an indirect softbox. The diffuser can be used with all three types of deep umbrellas. Used with the silver-interior Deep Umbrella results in mildly crisp but soft light with a slightly cool color rendition. The umbrella with a white interior yields softer light with a neutral to warm color quality, while use with the translucent umbrella casts light in all directions like a large light dome.
